Despacito was first released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi in 2017 and became the most streamed song within six months. The single Despacito which was a mix of reggaeton and pop has not just brought fresh attention to reggaeton music but also brought more attention to Latin music. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs that were Spanish mostly, and four songs in the year the year 2016. In 2017, during the height of Despacito's popularity 19, 19 songs mostly in Spanish have made it into the Top 100. By 2020 there will be 41 songs within this genre. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 as a bilingual rendition. In the following months, several artists collaborated with reggaeton superstars including Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma together with Medellin 2019 A few performers of reggaeton expressed their displeasure at the rise of popular music by 2020. A new group, Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the growth and evolution of reggaeton. He incorporated electronic dance styles and other genres into his songs.
